Jerrod purchased majority ownership of Middlebury Fitness in March of 2012 after
spending the last 15 years working in fitness management.  Jerrod graduated from the University of Maine - Presque Isle in 1997 and holds a B.S. degree in Recreation Management with a concentration in business.  Jerrod lives in Cornwall with his wife
Janice and two daughters and enjoys all sports including running, cycling,
hiking, kayaking, skiing and soccer.

Bob Falta - Owner

Bob co-founded Middlebury Fitness in 1997 and has worked as a managing partner
ever since.  Bob provides years of fitness management experience. Bob owned and operated Power Flex gym which was founded in 1986 and merged into Middlebury
Fitness in 1997.  Bob enjoys spending time with his wife Robin, working out,
 gardening and antiquing

Tamara Chase - Program Director
Certified Personal Trainer and Certified Body Pump® Instructor

Tamara is an attorney and group fitness instructor who has been leading group fitness in our community since 1984.  She is an AFAA Certified Personal Trainer and currently instructs Spinning® and Body Pump®. Tamara graduated from the University of Vermont and Northeastern University School of Law and takes great pleasure in sharing her love of fitness with all the wonderful people she has the pleasure of teaching.
   Emily Miner - Membership Director
Certified TRX Instructor and Group Fitness Instructor

Emily has been at Midd Fit since 2008 and was born and raised in Vermont.  She
graduated from Hawaii Pacific University and holds a degree in Visual Communications
with a minor in writing.  Emily is a Certified TRX® and Group Fitness Instructor
and enjoys fishing, hunting, skiing, cooking, dogs and anything outside
.
 
 Kasey Russett - Member Services Coordinator
Certified Personal Trainer, Certified TRX® and Zumba Instructor

Kasey graduated from Everglades University with a B.S. degree in Alternative Medicine.  Kasey is an AFPA Certified Personal Trainer holding additional certifications in TRX®
and Zumba® and strives to help clients obtain and maintain their healthy fitness goals. 
 Kasey enjoys spending time with her spouse Zach and two sons Carter and Clayton as well as photography, running, kickboxing and hiking.

 
Jason Hogaboom  - Member Services
Jason is has been a valued member of the Midd Fit team for several years.  You will most often see him at the front desk on Saturday's or Sunday's.  In his free time Jason enjoys spending time with his family and, as a former division 1 football player himself, enjoys watching college football.



Adam Gorton - Member Services
Certified Personal Trainer
Adam holds a bachelors degree in Sports Medicine from Castleton State College and
is employed full-time at Country Home Products.   Adam is an avid hunter and
fisherman and enjoys camping, woodworking, spending time with his wife Sarah,
young son Noah and Siberian Husky, Thorn. 


Cassandra Hayes - Member Services
   Cassandra has been working in the education field for over 15 years and is currently  employed full-time at Leicester Elementary School.  Cassandra enjoys working out, spending time with her family and reading. She lives in Goshen with husband Ed             and their two children Logan and Calysta.



Audrey Gridley - Member Services
Audrey has been with Midd Fit since 2002.   She works full-time at RE/MAX Champlain Valley Properties and has been active in sports and fitness her entire life.  Audrey
enjoys field hockey, water skiing, alpine skiing, tennis, swimming & walking her
black lab Caralina. Audrey also enjoys spending time with her
daughter Megan who
just completed her 1st year at East Carolina University.

Angela Foley  - Member Services
Angela lives in Bridport with her husband Paul and is a full-time teacher in Addison  County.  Angela enjoys working out and spending time with her family.  She is          always eager to help our members and rarely is without a smile on her face.
 

Brye Perreault - Group Fitness Instructor
Certified Zumba® Instructor
Brye graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst in 2001 with Bachelors Degree in Studio Art.  Brye is a member turned instructor at Middlebury Fitness. 
She is a licensed Zumba ® instructor and has completed Zumba® Basics 1, Zumba® Basics 2, Zumba® Toning, and Zumba® Gold trainings.

  Fred Putnam - Group Fitness Instructor
Fred is a Group Fitness Instructor, a Personal Trainer certified through the Aerobics
and Fitness Association of America and a certified Silver Sneakers instructor.   Fred is
also a Certified Safety Specialist with training in many occupational safety subjects including ergonomics and musculoskeletal disorders from Keene State College, NH. 
Fred emphasizes exercise to facilitate real-life activities and especially likes to help
class participants build self esteem and confidence by regularly pointing out
their fitness progress and successes.

Janet Morrisson - Group Fitness Instructor
 Janet is a spin instructor who takes great satisfaction in watching someone who is 
new to a class "stick to the program" and progress to a higher level of fitness.   Janet
 holds a Ph.D. in Communication and enjoys baking, running, biking and spending
time with her children Conner and Maggie

  Jeanette Brush - Group Fitness Instructor
Certified Body Pump® Instructor
 
Jeanette teaches Cardio Dance at Middlebury Fitness and takes great pride in  encouraging members to maintain healthy, active lifestyles in a fun and
energetic environment.   Jeanette lives on Lake Dunmore and enjoys
cycling and numerous other outdoor activities.
  Lynne Peck - Group Fitness Instructor
Lynne has been a group fitness instructor at Middlebury Fitness since inception in 1997.     She teaches Spinning, Step and Strength classes and enjoys a variety of activities    including water skiing, hiking and biking.   Lynne and her husband Glen own and        operate Peck Electric and have two children, Nathan and Lauren.
    Gail Isenberg - Group Fitness Instructor
Gail has been a fitness instructor at Middlebury Fitness for 10 years. She currently leads
 a Mature Adult Strength and Stretch (MASS) class. Gail has a BS in music education,
MS in counseling and a Ph.D. in psychology.  Interests include aviation, women's barbershop, learning Chinese, theater, biking and running. A mother of two adult
sons, Gail just completed her first half-marathon.
 
Janice Rushton - Group Fitness Instructor

Janice graduated in 1998 from the University of Maine- Presque Isle with a Bachelor
of Science degree in Elementary Education. In 2008 she became a Spinning Instructor
and obtained a certificate in Swedish massage. Currently she teaches Spinning at
Midd Fit and enjoys running, nordic skiing, photography and spending quality time
with her husband Jerrod and their two beautiful
young daughters. 
 
 
Julia Steen - Group Fitness Instructor
Certified Body Pump® Instructor
Julia came to Vermont as a student at Middlebury College and never left. She         attended Saint Michael's College for a MA in Clinical Psychology and now works as a therapist. Julia teaches Spin and Body Pump and finds sharing her love for group fitness   to be the best part of teaching. She lives in Salisbury with her husband,
Brian, and their many pets.


                 Sommer Wein - Group Fitness Instructor
 
Sommer moved to Middlebury at the end of 2012 after growing up in Burlington, VT.  She graduated from Honest Yoga center in 2011 with a certification in Vinyasa Yoga.  She has been teaching group and private lessons since attaining her certification.  Gaining her 500-hour certification and becoming kids yoga certified is the goal for 2013.  Sommer also spends her time with her four dogs, hiking and loving every moment of life!
 
Joanie Roberge - Group Fitness Instructor
 
Joanie is a Spin and Kickbox instructor who has been inspiring members of all ages
 for many years.  Joanie enjoys spending time with her children and grandchildren.     Other interests include horseback riding and kayaking.  

 
  Kathryn Thompson - Group Fitness Instructor
Licensed Massage Therapist
Kathryn Thompson is a Yoga instructor and Licensed Massage Therapist who
specializes in Swedish and Therapeutic Massage.   For a massage contact Kathryn

 Serena Guiles  - Group Fitness Instructor
Serena lives in Middlebury and works at RSVP, a small non-profit that places volunteers
 in the community. Serena rowed for the United States in the 1992 Olympics and her
favorite pastimes include attending her children’s swim meets, soccer games and jazz
band concerts, serving as Music Director and Conductor for the Middlebury Community Players, baking wedding cakes and singing with Maiden Vermont. She also loves
teaching step, spin, strength training and senior fitness classes at Middlebury
Fitness where she has been an instructor for the past eight years.
Dianna Sharon  - Group Fitness Instructor
Dianna is a certified spin instructor at Middlebury Fitness. She works for the State of Vermont, Department of Children and Families, Family Services. Dianna enjoys running, spinning, hiking, lifting weights with her husband, playing with her bassett hound.
 
Michele Butler  - Certified Personal Trainer
Michele holds a B.S. degree from Springfield College and is an ACSM Certified
Personal Trainer.  Michele has experience in cardiac stress testing & cardiac rehab.
Enjoys sport-specific programming, working on postural, flexibility, and
post-rehab issues.  Plays competitive tennis, dabbles in snowboarding & gardening.

Laurie Lowy  - Certified Personal Trainer
Group Fitness Instructor
Lauire is an ACE Certified Personal Trainer and Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy instructor.
Laurie is employed full-time at the Vermont Community Foundation and enjoys
biking, horse-back riding, hiking, snowshoeing, motorcycles, and kayaking.



      Kristen Ginsburg  - Certified Personal Trainer
Group Fitness Instructor
Kristen holds a M.A. in Education, B.S. in Psychology and is a NASM Certified Personal TrainerAfter a thorough assessment, Kristen offers a personalized and holistic
program to help her clients achieve their fitness goals. Kristen also teaches spinning, strength training and weight management classes. She enjoys skiing, biking,
yoga, gardening

Shem Johnston-Bloom  
Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist

Shem is a Middlebury Vermont Native and 2002 graduate of Middlebury Union High    school where he was a three time all-state football player.  He received his B.A and    
M.A. from Wesleyan University, where he captained the Football team in 2004 & 2005.  Both years Shem was named an All- Conference Defensive tackle. He recently
completed work on his N.S.C.A Certfication C.S.C.S. and was named the Head Strength
and Conditioning Coach at Middlebury College in July of 2011.  Shem is also is an
assistant with the Middlebury College football team and resides in Middlebury
with his fiancee Jackie Atkins and his dog Rascal.
